As a Kitchen Helper, you will play an important support role in the daily operation of the kitchen. Your main responsibility is to ensure that the kitchen, dishwashing area, and related back-of-house spaces remain clean, organized, and ready for service at all times.
Your responsibilities may include:
- washing dishes, kitchen utensils, pots, pans, trays, and other kitchen equipment
- maintaining cleanliness and order in dishwashing areas, kitchen floors, storage spaces, and work surfaces
- assisting with the collection, sorting, and proper storage of cleaned kitchen items
- supporting the kitchen team with basic preparation, cleaning, or organizational tasks when required
- handling waste disposal and helping to maintain hygiene standards in all back-of-house areas
- ensuring that cleaning procedures are followed in line with health, safety, and sanitation requirements
- assisting with deliveries, storage, and movement of supplies where needed
- helping to keep the kitchen environment safe, efficient, and well organized during busy service periods
- working closely with chefs and other team members to support the overall workflow of the kitchen
Qualifications and Requirements:
- previous kitchen or stewarding experience is an advantage, but not always essential
- willingness to work in a physically active and fast-paced environment
- understanding of cleanliness, hygiene, and safe working practices
- reliability, discipline, and a cooperative attitude
- ability to work as part of a team and support others where needed
- flexibility and readiness to assist with different back-of-house tasks
